I’m a seasoned vet assistant of 25 years. I became a veterinary professional ever since I knew there was a dr for animals at the age of 8. Before that I wanted to become a brain surgeon because I thought working on the brain would be cool to see what makes us “tick”.

Megan began her journey in veterinary medicine after always having a deep love for animals. As a child, she would pore over her big book of dog breeds and knew she wanted a career that let her care for pets.

Growing up, Nereida went to Mexico every year during summer break, where she would spend time with everything from dogs and cats to cows, chickens, and horses.

Like many veterinary professionals, Nichole dreamt of working hands-on with animals when she was a little girl. By the time she started volunteering with an animal hospital during her high school years, that desire was cemented.

Nicole grew up in the Berkshires in Massachusetts, where she spent a lot of time outdoors exploring the forest and riding horses. It wasn’t hard for her to develop a fondness for nature and the animal kingdom early on in life.

Sam is a dedicated veterinary assistant currently in school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). She joined the team after being encouraged by Dr. Houghton to apply, and quickly found her passion for supporting both pets and their families.

Sara has always wanted to become a veterinarian. She has fond memories of playing in the woods and lake with her brother, collecting seeds and berries to make treats for their family's chickens!

For Simi Johnson, veterinary medicine isn’t just a career - it’s been a way of life since childhood. Raised on her family’s farm in Mooresville, NC, she grew up surrounded by horses, sheep, goats, cows, cats, dogs, and chickens.

For Toviel, veterinary medicine began with curiosity and grew into a calling. At 13 years old, she picked up a veterinary science book through her 4-H club, not realizing it would spark a lifelong passion.

Veronica has been working in veterinary medicine since she was just 15 years old, beginning her career in the Chicago area and growing up hands-on in the field.
