Dr. Emily Nutt grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is excited to be caring for pets in the community that raised her. She graduated from Kenyon College before earning both her Master of Public Health, specializing in Veterinary Public Health, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University.
Her career has included a wide range of experiences, beginning with an equine internship in northern Virginia and later transitioning to small-animal general practice. In 2020, she returned home to North Carolina and worked for a local veterinary relief company, where she cared for patients in many different Charlotte-area hospitals - including Hambright Animal Hospital. She later served as the Area Medical Director for North and South Carolina, supporting veterinarians and ensuring high-quality patient care before joining the Hambright family.
Dr. Nutt loves building relationships with families and their pets, and she finds most areas of veterinary medicine deeply rewarding. Her special interests include internal medicine, ultrasound, behavior, and pain management. She is especially passionate about helping nervous or anxious pets feel safe and comfortable during their visits.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Nutt enjoys staying active through cycling and fitness, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors.
