Jacob is a dedicated veterinary assistant who brings curiosity, compassion, and a strong work ethic to every patient interaction. After completing his education, he relocated to Charlotte in search of a practice that prioritized a positive team culture, high-quality care, and long-term staff growth. From the moment he interviewed, Jacob knew he had found the right fit, an environment where teamwork, efficiency, and genuine enjoyment in the work all come together.
Jacob’s passion for veterinary medicine began early but truly took shape during high school, when he participated in a pre-veterinary program that allowed him to intern daily with a local veterinarian. That hands-on experience sparked a deeper appreciation for the field and confirmed his desire to pursue a career where learning never stops. He later attended North Carolina State University, working as a veterinary assistant throughout his studies, and even expanded his experience internationally by traveling to the United Kingdom to further his education in food animal medicine. He hopes to continue his journey by attending veterinary school in the future.
One of the most defining moments in Jacob’s career came during his time volunteering at a county animal shelter. On his first day, two neglected pit bull puppies were brought in as part of a rescue case. Being part of their recovery, helping them heal, building trust, and ultimately seeing them adopted together into a loving home—solidified his commitment to animal care and the impact veterinary teams can have on both pets and their people.
In practice, Jacob especially enjoys phlebotomy, appreciating the combination of technical skill, anatomical knowledge, and intuition it requires. He also values building relationships with clients and strives to make every visit as comfortable and positive as possible for both pets and their owners. For Jacob, enjoying the work and connecting with others is what transforms his role from “just a job” into a meaningful career.
Originally from North Texas, Jacob grew up alongside his younger brother, where a healthy sense of competition helped shape his drive to continuously improve. He developed a love for learning early on, whether through reading, hands-on skills like automotive work, or athletics, having spent three years wrestling, where he learned discipline, perseverance, and the reward of hard-earned success.
At home, Jacob shares his life with his girlfriend, close friends from college, and three cats - Kat, Wisteria, and Lulu. Kat keeps the household lively with her endless energy and late-night antics, while Lulu and Wisteria are perfectly content lounging on opposite ends of the couch - at least until they hear their automatic feeders go off.
