Britt is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at Hambright Veterinary Clinic. She first joined Hambright when the Kennels and Daycare opened, discovering her passion for working with animals. After gaining experience and expanding her knowledge elsewhere, Britt returned to Hambright, bringing her full circle journey back to the place where her love for veterinary care began.
Britt chose a career in veterinary medicine because it combines her empathy, care, and love for animals with a sense of fulfillment and purpose. “This field can be challenging and emotional, but it also brings a unique sense of calm and happiness,” she says. Her compassion for animals and dedication to providing high-quality care motivates her every day.
Britt particularly enjoys the phlebotomy aspect of her work, especially cat blood draws, which she finds both challenging and rewarding. She also has a keen interest in dermatology, including reading skin and ear slides, which allows her to contribute to precise diagnoses and treatments.
Originally from upstate New York, Britt grew up in a small town with six siblings and her father, enjoying fishing, hunting, and sports. Today, she lives with her partner, her 3-year-old son, her 17-year-old brother (for whom she is the legal guardian), three dogs, and ten chickens - homestead status pending! In her free time, Britt loves exploring new places, fishing, kayaking, and tackling big home improvement projects
