Amber is a receptionist who has always had a natural love for animals and a passion for helping people. After spending five years working at a collision shop, Amber realized she was ready for a change and wanted to find work that allowed her to express her strengths and make a meaningful difference. On a whim, she applied to an animal hospital despite having no veterinary experience. To her surprise, the practice saw the value in her customer service background and invited her to interview, and that opportunity became the beginning of her career in veterinary medicine.
Amber joined the team after hearing wonderful things about the practice and was excited to discover that the reality exceeded her expectations. She especially enjoys connecting with clients, showing compassion and empathy, and helping make their experience at the clinic a positive one. She loves being able to answer questions, ease concerns, and leave a lasting impression on pet owners during what can sometimes be a stressful time.
One experience early in her veterinary career helped reinforce how meaningful this work could be. Amber cared for a dachshund who had been seriously injured after getting into a fight with his brother. His injuries required ongoing treatment, including regular laser therapy visits. Watching his progress firsthand was incredibly rewarding for Amber. She loved seeing his personality shine through and watching him continue to lift his head and improve with each visit. Experiences like this reminded her why she wanted to work with animals and continue growing in veterinary medicine.
Amber is currently attending veterinary technician school, where she is enjoying learning as much as she can about veterinary medicine. She hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and skills so she can provide even more support to pets and their families.
Originally from North Carolina, Amber has lived there her entire life. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and following sports, she grew up watching football and still tries to keep up with it today. Her faith and church family are also an important part of her life. She has recently developed an interest in shooting and has started taking an interest in horseback riding.
Amber's favorite companion is her dog, Shaina, a sweet potato pittie whom she adopted from a shelter. Shaina is Amber's first dog of her own, and she feels incredibly lucky to have her. The two enjoy hiking, car rides, and adventures together, Shaina doesn't particularly care where they go, as long as she's included!
