Hannah joined Hambright Animal Hospital on November 25, 2024, bringing with her a lifelong passion for animals and a wealth of hands-on experience. Recommended by both current and former colleagues, she sought a positive, supportive environment where she could continue to grow her career and found her home at Hambright.
Growing up on a farm in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Hannah was surrounded by a diverse range of animals, including donkeys, goats, chickens, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, and even an alpaca. This upbringing instilled in her a deep understanding of the bond between humans and animals and the responsibility of providing compassionate care. From comforting scared pets to assisting in life-saving procedures, Hannah thrives on making a positive impact on the lives of both animals and their owners.
Hannah’s love for animals was sparked by her first dog, Cali, a red merle Australian shepherd who was her lifelong companion and source of inspiration. Later, Scarlet, another devoted dog, accompanied her as she pursued her dream of working in veterinary medicine. She began her professional journey at East Lincoln Animal Hospital, where she spent six years honing her skills, before joining Hambright to take on new challenges and continue growing in her career.
As a veterinary assistant, Hannah enjoys running lab work to uncover critical health insights and assisting in surgical procedures, where she monitors patients and prepares everything the doctor needs. She loves that every day brings new learning opportunities and the chance to make a difference for each patient that comes through the hospital doors.
Outside of work, Hannah shares her life with her energetic husky-shepherd mix, Conan, her shy but affectionate gray cat, Charlotte (“Baby Kigg”), and her sunbathing lizard, Juju. She is engaged to her fiancé of nearly ten years, who has been a steadfast supporter of her career. On her days off, Hannah enjoys reading, hiking, going to the gym, planting flowers, and soaking up the springtime outdoors she loves so much.
