Acupuncture

Acupuncture in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine has been used for thousands of years to treat a variety of conditions. Its main focus is to restore natural balance within the body by balancing Qi (vital energy), Yin, and Yang.

Current studies have shown that acupuncture has the ability to induce release of neurotransmitters, which are chemical messengers used by the body. Acupuncture is extremely safe, and does not have common side effects seen with medications. It can be used to treat conditions such as:

* musculoskeletal issues
* neurological disorders
* gastrointestinal problems
* cancer
* organ failure

It can also be used to maintain quality of life in geriatric patients. After a personalized consultation a treatment plan is formulated that is very specific to each individual pet. Treatment sessions can last between 20 minutes to 1 hour. Generally, a minimum of 3-5 sessions are needed before results are evident. In general, chronic conditions will require more treatments.
