Brooke

Veterinary Assistant

Ever since she was a little girl, Brooke’s fondest memories have always included animals. She grew up with dogs at home and was an avid horseback rider, too. For her, getting to work with animals hands-on to make a positive difference in their lives is a dream come true! Brooke gets to help pets as a Veterinary Assistant here at Hambright Animal Hospital, and plans on attending veterinary school in the near future to become a veterinarian herself.

Brooke was born in Huntington, West Virginia but moved to North Carolina with her family at the age of four. She’s been here ever since! Brooke attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study biology and anthropology, serving as President of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association there for three years, while also working full-time as a Veterinary Assistant at a local clinic. She graduated in May of 2021 and moved back to Charlotte to spend some time at home before applying to veterinary school. It wasn’t long before she’d signed on here at Hambright Animal Hospital—Brooke couldn’t be happier to help the pets and animal parents of the area as a part of our Veterinary Assistant team!

Around the hospital, Brooke enjoys internal medicine, disease management, and senior pet care. Her favorite part of her job is communicating one-on-one with pet owners, and she loves to provide detailed and understandable information in order to best serve our four-legged friends.

Away from work, Brooke likes playing volleyball, weightlifting and working out, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets. She has a long-haired Manx cat named Kiwi, whom she rescued during college, as well as a loveable Siberian Husky named Bentley.
